UFC 260 is set to air on March 27, 2021 with the main event being the long-awaited rematch between current champion Stipe Miocic and #1 contender Francis “The Predator” Ngannou.
Stipe, fresh off his August 15th win over Daniel Cormier, is set to defend the title against the man many deem to be the uncrowned heavyweight champ in Francis Ngannou. Ngannou, last seen in the Octagon clobbering Jairzinho Rozenstruik, is determined to avenge the only loss in his UFC tenure and claim the Heavyweight title for the first time.
Stipe is currently a slight favorite, sitting at +140. Vegas has Ngannou as a slight underdog at -140.
Stipe’s first win against Francis essentially came down to two words: Gas Tank. At that early stage in his career, Francis did not have the cardio necessary to go a full 25 minute fight. After surviving Ngannou’s initial onslaught, Stipe was able to rest on his endurance and pick Ngannou apart on his way to a unanimous decision win.
According to he and his camp, Francis has done much to improve his cardio. However, we haven’t been able to see his improved cardio as his last 3 fights have all been won via first round knockout.
Regardless, this is going to be an epic fight.
This fight is a total toss up in my opinion. If Stipe makes it into the 3rd round it’s going to be in his favor. The question, like in all of Francis’ fights, is can he land a clean shot? I can’t wait to tune in March 27th to find out.
